Email Standards Project

Helvetica is nice but here’s another cause that you should get your designers to really look into; the Email Standards Project.

Similar to the Web Standards Project that lead to dramatic improvements in user experiences on the Web, the Email Standards Project’s purpose is to get email client developers to agree on a set of standards, so that people can start building HTML emails that work in every email client from Yahoo! Mail to Microsoft Outlook 2007.

Now you can learn more about the Email Standards Project, you can take a look at their acid test to view a list of recommendations for standards-compliant email and find out what YOU can do to help make things better.
